We have several girls among statistical leaders in the Dallas area according to the Dallas Morning News Stat Leaders!!!

Bailey Smith ranks in the top 20 in the Dallas area in kills per game!

Rose Njoku and Bayleight Scott are #10 and #13 ranked players in blocks per game!!

Hannah Adams is the LEADER in assists per game and aces per game for 5A schools in the Dallas area.

None of this happens without the support of teammates!!!

Jacket volleyball family,

I am so very proud that our players, parents and coaches were a part of the community of people that poured their heart and soul into the awesome Hanna4hope event on Saturday.  I got word that $25,000 was raised and they are still counting!! It was truly inspiring to see the leadership, initiative, wherewithal and commitment of countless volunteers to make the day great.  This was and continues to be bigger than RHS volleyballI but I am so glad we were a part. I hope, pray and have faith we will continue to support the Clark family wherever and whenever we can.  I also pray that as we walk through life we are able to use all things to keep our eyes on the right thing and our hearts in the right place.  Cindalee put together an awesome collage that is a part of this post.

Tarleton State Team Camp

Our Team Camp, hosted by the Tarleton State University coaching staff will include the following sessions:

Friday July 26th

9:00 to 11:30

1:30 to 3:30

Saturday July 27th

9:00 to 11:30

1:30 to 3:30

Due to a conflict with TSU the Thursday session was moved to Saturday!

Registration will be walk up only $75 payable to Mary Schindler.

Camp is for incoming 9-12 graders.  If you are a 9th grader and attended our younger girls camp (July 22-25)  then the camp fee for our team camp with TSU is $25 also payable to Mary Schindler.  This will also be paid at camp.

Please arrive at 8:30 on Friday to allow time for walk-up registration.  See you there!!

2 on 2 Beach tournaments in Rockwall this summer!!

Heads Up Rockwall!!

Damon Wilson and I are running the first local 2 on 2 juniors beach volleyball tournaments for ages 18, 16, 14, & 12 and under at Oasis Beach and Tennis Club in Rockwall this summer.

The courts at Oasis are amazing and beach volleyball is a blast! By mid-July Oasis will have finished lighting all of the sand courts so we can escape the mid-day heat and play in the cooler evening hours!

The first tournament will be held on Saturday, July 13. Pool play will begin in the evening at 6pm followed by single elimination bracket playoffs. We will also be hosting tournaments on July 20, July 27, and August 3.

Go to Real beach to register for the July 13 event. Registration for each of the following events will open the Monday morning prior to the tournament.

The entry fee is $50 per team. And, any player that plays in 2 or more events will receive a free tank top courtesy of Real Beach.

Funeral information

Funeral services for  Hanna Clark for Tuesday, April 30, at 1 pm, in the auditorium of Lake Pointe Church

Dear RHS Volleyball,

Words cannot express how deeply saddened we all are by the passing of our teammate, classmate, and friend Hanna Clark.

The volleyball team met with Counselor Kim Williams this morning during off-season.  Ms. Williams was compassionate, informative, and thorough in her words.  We are all deeply indebted to her.  After our meeting, a number of players and coaches gathered to pray for Hanna, the Clark family, and our volleyball family.

This is exceptionally difficult for all of us to process.  For many of our players, this is the first time they have dealt with the death of someone close to them.  For most of them, it is the first time they have lost a peer.

The entire RHS family is here to help.  Ms. Williams told the girls to feel free to excuse themselves from class to speak with a member of our counseling staff.  We, as coaches, are also readily available to our players.

There is a Candlelight Vigil being held in Hannah's honor tonight at Harry Meyer Park.  The vigil will begin at 7:30.  Attendees should bring their own candles.

The Ogunc's have offered to open their home to any of Hannah's friends, immediately following the vigil.  Their address is

 102 Resolute, Rockwall, TX 75032  --

 

The will also be a gathering at Woodcreek Park tomorrow night at 7pm.  Attendees are encouraged to bring a helium balloon or candle.

The family is currently working on funeral arrangements.  We will keep you informed regarding the upcoming services.  There has been an inquiry regarding the possibility of the girls wearing their jerseys to the funeral.  We are looking into the district policy on such matters and are open to your views about this as well.

This is a terrible day for our community.  Please keep the Clarks in your prayers, and we will keep you informed as information becomes available.

I’m hosting a Recruiting Seminar on Monday, April 15 (tax day) at 6:30 PM in the cafeteria annex.  This is a Power Point presentation that covers all things related to the recruiting process – academic qualifications, scholarship limits, differences in divisions, recruiting terminology, etc.

*ALL RHS athletes and their parents are invited

Congratulations to Ashlyn Broussard!!

 Rockwall Volleyball would like to congratulate Ashlyn Broussard for her commitment to play volleyball at the next level.  She will be hitting outside at Lubbock Christian University beginning this fall.   Ashlyn has been a starting outside hitter on the Varsity team at Rockwall for four years and was named first team all-district this season.  We know she will have a great career at LCU.  We will celebrate as a program during the signing day in April.  Go A.B. we are proud of you!!
